I’m terribly behind in my reading, but at the moment, I’m working through All the Pretty Horses (C. McCarthy). Referenced food includes beans and tortillas. Costume is limited to blanket coats, overalls, boots, and socks with holes in them. Or was it holes with socks…? Scenery–mesquite and cacti.

Sara, Gavin and I enjoyed your lovely holiday card. Thanks so much for thinking of us. We miss you and Carlos terribly, and we are buoyed by news of your return to Washington. I’ll warm the sake upon news of your arrival.
