You are such a talented photographer! At least I can attend this virtual hanami, thanks to your blog. I hope you are doing well; I know cherry blossom season can be both happy and sad.

Gorgeous photos, I wish I was there with you sharing a cool bottle of sake with some nibbles from the bento shop, lying in the grass (NOT the hay from the ume blossoms) and enjoying the blue of the sky. Out here it has been rather overcast – you can lose the gray of the hull in the horizon – it is hard to believe we are only a few hundred kilometers away, it feels like an entire ocean.
Madam says: Ensign Pulver, may you return safe to your home port.
